Car to house alarm - offer from Admin
« on: May 24, 2012, 10:55:14 PM »
While at my suppliers on Wednesday, I picked up some alarms that may be of interest to us.

A remote unit sits in the car, or garage and senses movement within the garage or within the vehicle.

A remote unit sits in the house and can either chime (similar to a doorbell) or can be set as a 90db siren. There is a switch selecting between loud, off amd siren.

When movement is detected, the siren or chime alerts you indoors, while being silent in the garage or vehicle.

I picked up 4 of them, to see if our members are interested. I will sell them at my cost price plus postage to cover my costs but looking at them they look very handy indeed.

What does everyone think?

Out of interest Rik,  whats the transmission range on the unit ?

It's not one for me sadly but only because I recently had an alarm fitted on the garage and got it linked to the house alarm, otherwise I'd have been up for

Hi Colin, thanks for that, any chance you could test and review it also?
If you send payment to my paypal address which is sales at micromantis dot com, with your address I will post it on Monday. If you send your address with the payment I get it into my order management system.

Just to be open with you all, after the item cost, VAT, postage cost and packing materials I am making a profit of approximately 50p on these alarms, I'm not selling these for a profit, purely to help secure our vehicles.

thanks all for your support.

If you go to Paypal, and click send money, you should be able to send money to sales (AT) micromantis (DOT) com

Let me know if that works mate.

Hello rik and all LWs I have set up the system to start evaluation, first impression is I do not think it is suitable for use in a car, mainly because of the size of the PIR, also the colour, however this is early days, evaluation will continue and will be reported back. Regards Colin

Hope it proves useful, how about hiding it or some camouflage or a disguise? Strip the casing and refit in a speaker housing? Just thinking aloud.

Morning all from a VERY wet Wales, I am looking at disguising the in car unit between downpours, I have tested it in my Disco by asking the other half to get something from it,  the distance about 30 metres and it works very well including alerting the dog into guard mode! I will be testing it for greater distance soon, more info in due course. regards Colin
