appeal following theft of a land rover

21/10/2014

Police are appealing to members of the public for information as part of an investigation into the theft of a Land Rover.

The vehicle, which is a ‘Defender’ in blue, was taken from Pembridge Lane in Broxbourne between 3.40pm and 4.55pm on Sunday, October 12 whilst the owner, a local man in his 50s, walked his dog in woods nearby.

PC Dean Watson is investigating and said: “The Land Rover was locked and so it is unclear at this stage how offender(s) may have removed it and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw anyone acting suspiciously or saw any vehicle they believe looked to be out of place, to contact me.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Watson via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number A6/14/571. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Have asked for more details

Hi, new to this but wanted to join: had a lot of damage to my vehicle a couple of weeks ago when some scrote removed the light, fried the alarm and the ECU and took my air filter and regulator.  Not got her back yet.
Any tips on top security devices to keep her on the drive?  Other than staying up each night and waiting to leap out on such scumbags?

Hi mate sorry to hear about your attempted theft
I presume your landy is a TD5 I would be very surprised
If the ecu was fried I think the as10 alarm unit has blown it's in line fuse
Wen the thief fused the light to get rid of the Visual element of the alarm system
A very old trick... You say they stole a regulator? Not sure I know what That is ?
And did you try and start your landy arfter the attack was there any warning lights
Or just completely dead including the courtesy light ? If you have a good read on this site
There are lots of grate kit out there to protect you landy... Landywatch is such a good Re-sauce..
And a lot of td5/TDCI owners think to just have the standerd alarm/imobalizer is like having no alarm at all
Coz it's so easily bypassed... So maybe in a odd way you were lucky... But i will think wen the landys back on the drive there be back for round 2 so get your security ready for wen you get it back

Hi, I would really like a landywatch sticker the same size as a tax disc to go on the windscreen (looks kinda bare since October 1st). I have a large LW sticker but on a truck cab it's hard to find somewhere to put it (ended up putting it on the pedal lock).

From the facebook pages  and sorry if in wrong section

Probably nothing but, I've just passed a flat grey 90 on white biscuit wheels and possibly a snorkel on the back of a white class 2 Scania beaver tail with red hiab.
Reg on 90 FX 60 ???
Reg on Scania EO 02 ???
Seen in Shafton, Barnsley.
I was driving the opposite direction so didn't get chance to get the full reg numbers.
The 90 was grubby looking for a 60 plate, it looked possibly as if it had been roller painted. (It wasn't bonatti grey.)
